As an editor at OPENPUB Global Publishers, you are responsible for managing the editorial process, ensuring the quality and integrity of each manuscript submitted to your journal, and maintaining an ethical and transparent review process.
Editor Responsibilities
- Initial Evaluation: Editors are responsible for performing an initial evaluation of all submissions to determine if they are suitable for peer review based on their quality, relevance, and scope of the journal.
- Selecting Reviewers: Editors select appropriate reviewers who are experts in the subject matter of the manuscript. Reviewers should be independent and impartial, with no conflicts of interest.
- Managing the Peer Review Process: Editors coordinate the peer-review process, ensuring that reviewers provide timely, detailed, and objective evaluations. They also ensure that the review process is transparent and fair.
- Decision-Making: Based on the feedback from reviewers, editors make decisions about whether a manuscript should be accepted, rejected, or revised. Editors should communicate decisions clearly and provide authors with reviewer comments.
- Ethical Standards: Editors must uphold the highest ethical standards in the review and publication process. They are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts comply with ethical guidelines, including plagiarism checks and appropriate consent for research involving human or animal subjects.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they may have a bias or personal connection to the authors or content.
- Promoting Transparency: Editors should encourage authors to disclose all relevant data and methodologies used in their research and ensure transparency in the peer-review process.
- Reviewer & Author Recognition: Editors are responsible for recognizing and acknowledging the efforts of peer reviewers and authors, whether through formal recognition, certificates, or acknowledgment in the journal.
